Proverbs


PROVERBS
1.      Haste makes waste.
2.      Practice makes perfect. (You never know what you can do till you try.)
3.      A man is known by the company he keeps.
4.      Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. (The early bird catches the worm.)
5.      If you run after two hares, you will catch none.
6.      Blood is thicker than water. (Charity begins at home. Near is my shirt, but nearer is my coat.)
7.      Curiosity killed the cat. (A fool may ask more questions than a wise man can answer. Too much knowledge makes the head bald. Ask no questions and you will be told no lies.)
8.      East or west, home is best. (There’s no place like home.)
9.      An Englishman’s home is his castle.
10.   Birds of a feather flock (fly, stick) together. (Like to like.)
11.   When the cat is away, the mice will play.
12.   The appetite comes with eating. (The more you have, the more you want.)
